As a kid I often watched tennis matches on telly together with my dad. Always looking forward to the final of a tournament where there was a big chance that Agassi would meet Sampras. I had a slight preference for Agassi but these matches were just unforgettable. The passion, hunger for win, drama made this final between these two men attractive to watch. Nowadays Nadal and Federer have taken over the roles of Sampras and Agassi and the old men are enjoying their ‘old days’. This week Agassi has released his autobiography together with some shocking reveals; he admits using dope and using a wig to cover his baldness. Where the man enjoyed a lot of attention in the past, he now needs to uncover a lot of secrets to stay in the picture and to praise his book. The BBC puts him in the spotlights one more time and they honour him with a special: Andre Agassi’s career in pictures.

It is getting warmer outside and that means that the futsal season is coming to an end, it is time to start playing outside. Our team plays in two different competitions. We play in a Sunday invitional competition and an open competition for Almere. The Sunday competition is the hardest competition for us because many top teams attend this competition. And most of the time we play with a handicap because we are still recovering from our hangover. Spinning around on the field may look like Brazilian samba soccer but it if you ask me it comes closer to a bunch of wandering zombies. The open competition is a different story. We play well but yet not good enough. We waste points against less stronger opponents and we play our best matches against equal or stronger opponenents. But somehow we are not able take advantage of our strengths resulting to a position somewhere in the middle of the classification. We are worth top 3 if you ask me. I’ve seen many good things this season. We have become a more closer and stronger team: our goalie has much more confident in comparison with last year, our striker scores less but has its team in mind, our defense plays compacter and is now able to steer the front and our fanbase has grown! Afterall, we will definetly play better next year.

Though, we compete in two total different competitions but we end up on the same position: 5th in the Sunday competition and a possible 5th/6th position in the open competition. Last sunday a small closing ceremony was organized for the Sunday competition. Our team received a nice award for our incredible achievement!
