My apartment

Appartment No Comments »

Since a month I am the proud owner of my own apartment downtown Almere. From weekend to weekend work is being performed in order to make my apartment ready for a happy living. Besides the usual work such as putting a new floor into the apartment and giving the walls and ceiling a lick of paint, the bathroom and kitchen are being renovated. Two big projects. I am getting help from many sides which I really  appreciate. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t finish in years without these extra hands. The photographs can be found within the gallery or just watch them below when possible.

Chop Suey

I love the rythmic play of Chop Suey (System of a Down). From slow to harsh and back to easy. I came across a more classical version of the song. Just hear it out for your self!

Andre Agassi

As a kid I often watched tennis matches on telly together with my dad. Always looking forward to the final of a tournament where there was a big chance that Agassi would meet Sampras. I had a slight preference for Agassi but these matches were just unforgettable. The passion, hunger for win, drama made this final between these two men attractive to watch. Nowadays Nadal and Federer have taken over the roles of Sampras and Agassi and the old men are enjoying their ‘old days’. This week Agassi has released his autobiography together with some shocking reveals; he admits using dope and using a wig to cover his baldness. Where the man enjoyed a lot of attention in the past, he now needs to uncover a lot of secrets to stay in the picture and to praise his book. The BBC puts him in the spotlights one more time and they honour him with a special: Andre Agassi’s career in pictures.

Braintraining: Tetris

Gaming, Science 5 Comments »

TetrisEarly this week the media reported a new research regarding the 25 year old game Tetris. Scientists asked a bunch of young girls to play Tetris 30 minutes on a day for a period of 3 months. Their brain power was scanned and the results were compared with a similar group who had not been playing the game. The scientists found a change in the brain, it seems that regularly playing Tetris thickens the grey mass of the brains. The proof that games do not only have negative impacts on children. So, who is up for a little competition? Play Tetris here and post your high score in the comments! My score after the first attempt was: round 9 score 31092.
